Lilia Kosolapova is an illustrator. In 2017, while on maternity leave, Lilia started to draw and self-educate in the field of fine arts. From the very beginning, she took this seriously as a matter of life and began to comprehend herself as an artist.
In the process of self-development, Lilya did a lot of work on her own, and also studied at various courses. In 2019, she entered Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering for retraining courses of the programme «Graphic Design» and in 2020 she gained the diploma with honors. In 2020 and 2022 she studied at the online intensive, and then at the 7-month online course by Viktor Melamed and Tatyana Ivankova at the «Illustration» program at the British Higher School of Design, Moscow, and defended her thesis with full marks.
In 2021, she joined the Creative Union of Russian Artists. Moreover, since 2019, Lilia has been one of the organizers of open drawing meetings «Sketchvstrechi»
in Kazan. In 2020 and 2021she drew illustrations and covers for the «Idel» and «Kazan» JSC «Tatmedia» magazines. She participates in fairs of illustrators in Kazan and conducts master classes. She draws with live materials and in digital, experimenting in the field of hand printing, making zines, comics and books.
«In my work, I strive for maximum sincerity, honesty, even intimacy. I try to keep real liveliness, get away from affectedness, and add a pinch of humor. This is the recipe for my stories in pictures».
Participation in exhibitions and art residences:2019 – Exhibition in the «Forest» illustration festival, Yoshkar-Ola. The work presented at the exhibition was awarded a special jury prize;
2020 – Art-residence «Graphic Reportage», festival «Tales on the Kama», Naberezhnye Chelny;
2021 – Spontaneous personal exhibition «Housing co-op art», consisting of posters pasted on the announcements boards and dedicated to the problems of the housing co-op «Viking» addressed 105, 107, 109 Vosstaniya street, Kazan;
2021 – Anniversary exhibition «Hello, Yuri Gagarin!» at the State Museum of Fine Arts of Tatarstan, Kazan;
2021 – «Art Workshop XXI. Bestiary» Artists Union of Russia, traveling exhibition – Saratov, Kazan, Kolomna, Moscow;
2021 – 6th Kazan International Biennale of Printed Graphics «Rider», «Khazine» Gallery, Kazan;
2022 – New Year exhibition-fair in the Belova Art Gallery, Kazan.
